For this Studio Project, students were tasked with developing a ideology which they follow in their personal lives, and then to display these within the form of a zine. We were given a loose idea of what we were allowed to do and from there we were given the freedom to design and produce the zine. For mine, I decided to use a physical medium to create my background. I used water and ink to create a free flowing and lose design that leads into a more chaotic and messy final panel.
These ink and water backgrounds were then scanned and formatted properly within the dimensions of the zine, and they were finally printed in mass on the risograph machine in the design lab. With the way the risograph works we were given two colors to choose from that would be overlaid and dithered for the hues in between and eventually printed on grey paper before finally being folded, trimmed and completed.
